Week 56 Service Learning

What went well? What would you improve? What was the most impactful part?

The easiest part about service learning was doing the service, the other parts like being on-boarded or finding service have more friction, the paper work and forms process is also a bit slow but not bad. I think the most impactful part of this experience was meeting new people and understanding how they fit service into their daily lives.

What challenges did you face?

The biggest challenges for me were securing a service and time management. As someone who works full-time and has a demanding career, fitting in even 5 hours of service was difficult between the course work of CST 328 and CST 462.


What advice do you have for future SL students?

Make sure to establish a proper timeline with your service agency so things are not happening at the last minute. Additionally, manage your time well as the weeks go by super fast.
