Week 8: CST 300 Done

The first videos I'll be reviewing are by Team Otter Pinch.

Otter Pinch General Public Video
Otter Pinch Professional Audience

Otter Pinch covers the topic of eye-tracking and shows that the topic was researched well. Their videos both target their respected audience. I enjoyed their general public video quite a lot which shows that there was a lot of planning and effort put into developing the presentation. I have to say that both presentations were clear, concise, and easy to understand. As for the teamwork aspect, I was not able to discern who did which part but two members did the voice-over for the presentation, thus I suspect the other members focused on developing the presentation and editing. I have to commend Otter Pinch on the slides as they were only used as a visual aid and not as a scaffold for the presentation.

Next, I'll be reviewing team OtterBots' final videos on the topic of Gaming Addiction. Unfortunately, I am unable to embed their professional presentation due to privacy settings but I have included the URL below.

The OtterBots put in a lot of effort in creating an engaging animation for the general public. On the other hand, OtterBots' professional presentation was well researched, clear, and concise but the slides for their presentation were extremely cluttered with words. For future presentations, they should use images and a few descriptors for the images rather than have small images and slides filled with words that are already being spoken. Both presentations address the correct audience and have superb video production. This team definitely worked together to create great presentations.

Final tip: Use the speaker notes section if you need help with topics. I've seen many corporate events and there are always downstage monitors where presenters will have their speaker notes which have what they plan to say about each slide.

Lastly, I'll be reviewing the team Pacific Analytics Biometrics presentation.

Pacific Analytics - General Public Video
Pacific Analytics - Professional Audience Video

From the presentations, it is evident that Pacific analytics worked as a team on this project. The presentation is clear and well researched. I found both of their presentations interesting and I got to learn a lot about biometrics but I found that the video content was decent. I would suggest having some words that simply caption what the picture is about. Their presentation has little to no words and lacks title slides.  Apart from those issues they fulfill all requirements for the video project.

Part 2:

I found my team's communication and collaborative skills to be exceptional. We primarily use google meets for meetings and slack for quick communications. In the past, I've had okay to decent teamwork but in this program, I've found teammates that are amazing and on top of their work. In the future, I would like some sort of project tracking application to manage time for group projects. Furthermore, during this course, I've learned more about the software engineering industry and a great refresher on APA formatting.
