Week 9: A New Class

This week was the first official week of CST 338 Software Design, I'm fairly excited to be taking a course where I have to write code again. Java is not my prefered language but I'm fairly proficient in using it because of my Intro to Programming and Data structures courses which were both in Java. I'm already looking forward to next week module since this weeks module was fairly easy and a nice little refresher to Java. I am fairly nervous about the formatting issues but I believe I've configured Eclipse and IntelliJ(my preferred IDE) to the given specifications. I have used Eclipse before for C++.

I'm proficient in Python and Java, and sometimes in C++. I love Python and everything that it stands for. I listen to python related podcasts to stay current on news related to it and its libaries. I feel comfortable using Java for object oriented programming and have a solid foundation with it. Lastly, I have a weird relationship with C++ because I want to program more using it but at the same time I avoid using it. Most of my C++ experience is from my Electricial Engineering related courses so I have limited knowledge of OOP in C++.

I would love to become a Software Engineer because I like the idea of solving problems using code. Although currently I would like to be a DevOps engineer. I enjoy working with linux, terminals and virtualization technology.
